2. Mark your calendar - 6th Nov 06

3. Nicole and her demands

4. The CMA Nominations

5. Pregnancy rumors still

9. Once In A Lifetime debuts

10. Do You Google?

11. A Computer Tip Before We Go

12. Your suggestions
=========================

1. For those of you in the UnCasville, Conn area, Keith will perform at Mohegan Sun Arena on 20th Oct 06. If you can still get a ticket that is. They went on sale 1 Sep 06 at Ticketmaster for $65-$85.

2. Mark your calendar for 6th Nov 06 for the 40th Annual CMA Awards which will be returning to Nashville this year. If you recall, the event was held last year in NYC. You can catch the show on ABC.

3. I’m not sure how true this rumor is but supposedly Nicole is trying to persuade Keith to shave off his facial hair. Apparently she finds it irritating to her face. I wonder if that topic ever came up prior to the marriage. What could be next? Hey, I don’t like the length of your hair … get a haircut!

4. Here are the four awards Keith is nominated for at this years CMA Awards:

1 - Entertainer of the year:
Brooks & Dunn
Kenny Chesney
Brad Paisley
Rascal Flatts
Keith Urban

2 - Single of the year for artist and producer: Believe, Brooks & Dunn; Better Life, Keith Urban; Jesus Take the Wheel, Carrie Underwood; Summertime, Kenny Chesney; When I Get Where I’m Going, Brad Paisley (featuring Dolly Parton).

3 - Song of the year for songwriter and primary publisher: 8th of November, Big Kenny and John Rich; Believe, Craig Wiseman and Ronnie Dunn; Jesus Take the Wheel, Hillary Lindsey, Brett James and Gordie Sampson; Tonight I Wanna Cry, Keith Urban and Monty Powell; When I Get Where I’m Going, Rivers Rutherford and George Teren.

4 - Male vocalist of the year:
Dierks Bentley
Kenny Chesney
Alan Jackson
Brad Paisley
Keith Urban

5. Nicole’s rep, Cathrine Olim is insisting that Kidman is not pregnant, again. What if it turns out that she is lying? How does one get around that with the press? Olim claims that a recent pic of Nicole was digitally altered to make her look pregnant. The rep said that Nicole wouldn’t be ?shooting a film, traveling to Rome for another film, then shooting another film if she were? (pregnant).

If all of the bickering stated above between Nicole and Keith is true, perhaps it’s a good thing if she is not. And it makes you wonder doesn’t it that if you’ve signed several multi-million dollar film contracts, why would one pursue trying to get pregnant anyhow? She has 5 movies slated for production in the next few months.

6. Even a married man can’t resist kissing 2 sisters from outside of Albany. That’s what Keith did at a recent outdoor concert when he spotted their sign. He replied, 2 sisters, 2 wishes, 2 kisses! … Well, come on up. I’m not going to miss this opportunity. Keith has been headlining and selling out several venues over the past few weeks including the Syracuse State Fair and the Crawford County Fair in Pennsylvania.

7. Keith will be returning to Australia in Oct for the Australian Recording Industry Association Awards. Talk about staying power, Be Here from 2004 has sold double platinum in Australia and is still number 3 on the ARIA country charts. And his first 1999 solo Keith Urban and 2002’s Golden Road, are still both in the Country Top 20 in Australia.

8. Here is the link for The Keith Urban Story part 2 of The Road To Be Here. http://www.learn-keith-urban-guitar.com/KeithUrbanNewsletterIssue3.html

9. And finally, Once in a Lifetime, Keith’s new single from his upcoming Nov release, made history on Billboards 62 year history by debuting at No. 17 … the highest ever. Eddie Rabbit had Every Which Way But Loose debut at No. 18 in 1978 and Garth Brooks also had a No. 18 debut with Good Ride Cowboy in 2005.

10. Do You Google? Here is a Google Tip - If you’re a World Information hound, the The World Biographical Index (http://www.saur-wbi.de/) may be for you. This is one of the world’s authorities of information about people, biographies and other cool facts dating all the way back as far as 1559.

It was free until Sep 2004 and now is only searchable via subscription … but many public libraries will get you into the database for free .. right from your home. Check with your local library if this resource would be of interest to you.

11. A Computer Tip Before We Go … Did you know that the inside of your computer should be cleaned every few months. How you may ask? With compressed air. Ensure the system is shut down .. unplug the cables … remove the side panel and with the tower standing upright, hold the compressed air can vertically and spray the entire surface of your motherboard and power supply fan and any other USB plugs etc where dust can gather.

It’s important to do this in a well ventilated area such as outside on a balcony or deck. And don’t tip the compressed air upside down or water will spray out of it (that’s not good). Just keep the can vertical and blow out the dust, as it causes heat to build up inside your computer. 6-8 good sprays for 5-10 sec each should do it.

12. That’ll do it for this issue. If wish to comment or have any suggestions, I’m all ears. You can reach me at my web address.

Til next time.

My extremely gifted climber was out of control and so I ordered this play yard. She had already managed to escape our 22" Todays Kids play yard and so I was shopping for something 30" or so. This one fits the bill and has been goood so far. I have had it for a month. I also have the 2 panel extension which creates a "playroom" that is inviting and spacious enough for a couple more people to come inside, sit down, and play.
Now, my toddler is contained and the mess is contained. Owning the play yard has inspired me to organize her toys, putting some back, as I rotate them in and out of the yard. My daughter has benefitted from the "new again" toys, thus making confinement less of a drag. Since we now have all of her toys exclusively in the play yard, she actually wants to go inside her "playroom".

this looked good - sturdy and strong, inside or outside use, gate - but i gave no thought to the smooth wooden floors in our house. WHAT A LAUGH. once inside it, our 11 mth son pushes it around the house like a baby walker. does not retain its shape, sections wobble as he cruises around….lots of entertainment, but not secure. i’m getting a steel one - BabyDan do a few different models inc one with a pad.

This is a really nice product. Easy to move, secure and I do not have to worry about saftey issues with the product. Sturdy yet "lightweight" considering the job it needs to do.
would even consider expaning this.

Easy to fold and keeps the little ones in. Just know that they will soon get big enough to climb, push or crawl under it.

The play yard works fine as a home for our dog. It is sturdy, of good quality, conveniently movable, and relatively attractive. Closing and opening the gate can be a bit cumbersome at times, but overall it is easy to operate. Amazon had the best combined purchase/shipping price of several sites we investigated for this item.

Gentlemen Start Your Engines With A Race Car Theme Party

Posted by admin on February 27, 2009

If your little boy is full of energy and you?re looking for a party theme to keep up with his increasing liveliness then, a race car themed party is just the thing to satisfy him. Having a race car theme brings excitement, creativity and a memorable experience to those who attend. NASCAR, Daytona, Indianapolis are all popular races that can be featured at your party.

Be prepared to fill the party with games, fun and an overall good time. A few weeks before the party, collect large boxes and paint them in different colors. At the party each child will receive their own box. Supply paint, stickers, large numbers and anything else they?ll need to create their very own race car. With the bottom of the box cut out, the children can wear the boxes around their waists and have races with each other. Or, you can supply go carts for the children to take turns racing each other. Racing costumes and gadgets will add to the look and help get the kids in the racing mode. Online their are lots of shops that have supplies for parties.

Here is an easier craft to do, cut large triangles out of paper. Give one triangle to each child. Allow the children to decorate the triangle in different ways to create their own racing flags. Attach each flag to a stick and hang them around the party as decorations. Investigate recipes where you can make the food look like little race cars. The kids will get a kick out of the fact that the racing doesn?t stop off of the track.

Do you know anyone who owns a race car or a hot rod? You might ask them if they would bring it to the party. The kids could take a picture in it or next to it. The picture in a nice frame or a frame that the children have decorated themselves would serve as a nice party favor.

We found some cute stuff at Party Supplies Online. They have lots of NASCAR racing party supplies. Plus, adorable party favors.

Personalized Banners For Your Party

Posted by admin on February 25, 2009

Putting up personalized banners at your party event can add so much to the fun atmosphere of the party as well as serving another purpose. It also tells you what the party is for, not that the guests won?t all ready know but there is something affirming about that personalized banner crying out ?congratulations? to the guest/s of honor. It also makes for a great keepsake. Banners have evolved a lot over the years, from a simple handwritten message in block letters to a professional looking, but personalized sign designed for just about every event.

You will find that there are banners made for just about each and every occasion. There are birthday banners, graduation banners, anniversary banners and even Bar and Bat Mitzvah banners. Perhaps the most popular banners to use are the anniversary and birthday banners. They are most typically used to mark a very important milestone year for the guest/s of honor. For a married couple it can be for their twenty-fifth anniversary or for that young adult it can be for their twenty-first birthday. The years ending in zero tend to celebrated the most, so you?ll have an easier time finding banners focused on those birthdays and anniversaries. Of course there are also lots of blank banners with no prewritten message, designed so that you can fill the message in entirely when you make the purchase. Usually these banners have a generic but colorful border and may have some graphic images that can be associated with a theme, but aren?t too specific. These graphics may be hearts, flowers or gifts.

You can usually pick up a banner in different sizes depending on what you need. The largest banner might be about thirty-six by seventy-two inches. Smaller banners are twenty-four by forty-eight inches and eighteen by thirty-six inches for the smallest size. Party banners are also a great way to help the guests spot the party location.

Photographing The Young

Posted by admin on February 24, 2009

If there were one most exciting but stressful kinds of photo shoots there is?that would be child photography. Started out as a hobby of parents who are into photos and photography, the craft has evolved into something more commercialized and a viable source of income through the years.

But for parents who would want to capture the best moments of their children, professional photography lessons wouldn?t be that necessary, all they have to do is to learn about certain photography technicalities and observe the attitude and mood swings of their children.

Parents should bear in mind that when trying to photograph their children, they should be ready for occasional tantrums and crying. When this happens, let the child calm down by giving them something that would catch their attention like a toy.

Younger children like those tots under 5 years old are not very conscious or aware of the camera but this doesn?t mean that they are very interested in the ?photo shoot?. To get their attention, make sure that you have something that will get their attention.

OTHER CHILD PHOTOGRAPHY STRATEGIES

Portraits?especially of children?never fail to evoke feelings to anyone. If you?re a budding professional child photographer, it would be better if you?ll have a brief background in child psychology and you better to create your own strategies by now.

Here are some strategies you can work on and try to reinvent over time:

Strategy no. 1: Prepare for the best and the worst.

Before the actual day of the shoot, make sure that you pay a visit to the house of the family to give you an idea what kind of child/ren you are going to deal with. It is also advisable to meet them personally and memorize their names to create familiarity. You can also have a sort of ocular inspection around the area so you can picture the ideal background and set up mentally. Before leaving for the actual photo shoot, double check all the necessities and equipment you will need.

Strategy no. 2: Practice the power of smile.

Being friendly or possessing a friendly aura will draw children nearer to you. Smiling will also make them more comfortable dealing with you throughout the shoot.

Strategy no. 3: Impress them your ?gears.?

Get children?s attention by impressing them with stuff they don?t know yet. Since they are generally inquisitive, you can get their attention by letting them touch and ?play? with some of your simple photography equipment.

Strategy no. 4: Set the background.

Although a photo studio would give you all the comforts you need in doing your job, this wouldn?t ensure a good result for children photography. It would be best if you set a backdrop or location where children can roam around and express themselves freely.

Strategy no. 5: Back to basics with the natural approach.

Do not force a setting or set up where the child is not comfortable. It is best to photograph children in their best elements like riding their own bike or doing some art stuff. These natural settings would be more vivid in the coming years compared to those taken in a stiff and formal environment.

Strategy no. 6: Know the clothing basics.

Days before the shoot, tell the parents to show their kids what they will be wearing. This would ensure the comfort of the child during the shoot.

Strategy no. 7: Bring your best and the most appropriate photography equipment.

Make sure that you bring the best equipment to produce best results. Basics include digital or film SLR camera, variety of lenses, studio lights, flashgun, spare batteries, and compact flash or rolls of film.

Strategy no. 8: It?s all in the light.

Aside from having a good subject, make sure that you set up a good lighting because it will greatly affect the overall outcome of the photo.

Strategy no. 9: Be an ?image capturer.?

Always be on guard to capture the best moments throughout the shoot. Always have your finger on the shutter button while your eyes are near the camera.

Strategy no. 10: Always focus on the ?window of the soul.?

Needless to say, photographs where the eyes of subjects are tuned into camera produce the best photographs ever.
