Do not buy Baby Trend strollers! I only gave it 1 star because I couldn’t figure out how to give it none. We have a Safari Travel System and the support bar between the rear wheels completely broke in two after less than 4 months of daily walks on the sidewalk. And Baby Trend refuses to cover a repair or replacement. Only buy if you consider strollers disposable items, because ours is now ready to throw away.

Ok, here’s the deal on double strollers. Like everyone else, we had the Duo Glider, even the one with the inflatable wheels to help when turning. Hands down, the Sit N’ Stand Plus is head and shoulders better and here’s why…
1. With this stroller, you CAN FIT 3 KIDS ON THIS STROLLER!! We have a 3.5 and 1.5 year old with a newborn coming in December ‘08. We put 3 kids in this stroller when trying it out and this is how we did it, infant in front, 1.5 year old in middle, 3.5 year old standing in the rear using the safety strap to keep him from falling backwards into whoever’s pushing the stroller. The best way to do this effectively is to do as another reviewer stated and place a bar behind the rear seat back inside the small triangular metal brackets on the handlebar portion of the stroller, this allows the rear child to sit more upright and thus have room for the older third child in the rear.
2. This stroller GLIDES way better than the DuoGlider, even without the inflatable wheels that the DuoGlider had (that always went flat).
This stroller is easy to fold, easy to handle, NOT THAT HEAVY!! If you think this stroller is heavy, then you haven’t held a child on each hip before. This stroller is not that heavy compared to any other double stroller on the market.
3. Finally, the price is fantastic, we looked all over for a double stroller at the consignment stores and department stores, this is our 4th stroller, we’ve had a side by side jogger, a Graco Single stroller, a side by side folding umbrella stroller, and a DuoGlider, thank goodness we found this stroller when we did. This is by far the best stroller out there for 2 or 3 kids, beats the Kolcraft as well. If you’re considering the Kolcraft, safe some money and buy this stroller, there are more useful options on this stroller than the Kolcraft. You can’t fit 3 kids in the Kolcraft unless one is sitting on another’s lap.
Anyway, I hope this helps, if you don’t believe me, just take your 3 kids to Target and load them into this stroller and you’ll see just what I mean.

[Almost an Identical review as for their infant car seat: There's no doubt that this is THE Cadillac of stollers designed for use with infant car seats (yes, it works with car seats from "others," as well as their own). I gave this as a gift too and, of course, the manufacturer of this little beauty made me a super hero (again). You can't go wrong with this product!!!

I got this stroller for my 2 yr old and a newborn. It is perfect for them both and will grow with the toddler as he decides he is too big for a stroller. It is lightweight (you have to remember DOUBLE stroller), easy to steer, and has great features. One thing that makes it 4 stars and not 5 is that it says carries most major brand infant carriers. A little misleading. Other brands simply just rest on the bar and you have to use a strap to secure it. The strap is adjustable but only one side and was extremely difficult to adjust for the carseat I had planned on using. Even strapped in, the carseat still slid around a little and made me feel uncomfortable about it. We ended up buying their carseat so it would securely "click" in. I am VERY happy with the stroller and carseat. Even considering the cost of a new carseat it is still cheaper tp have this system and grow with it than it is to purchase another stroller later.

I shopped all over the internet and read all kinds of reviews, this stroller was a great buy for me and my family. My soon to be 3 y/o loves riding in the stroller. He has good leg room, considering he is 39" tall. He loves looking at his new (1mth old) baby brother in the reverse Graco carrier in front. Don’t buy this stroller for storage underneath, there isn’t any, that’s where my older son’s legs are. I love this stroller for the price, easy to assemble directions, versatility w/ stand option, & easy maneuvering. My 2 neighbors test drove this with my kids on board and plan to purchase this same stroller. I bought this stroller for shopping trips, nights out down the shore, and short neighborhood walks. I would definitely recommend this product. As always great shopping w/ amazon and free shipping!

My husband and I love this bundleme! Our daughter was born in early December and she has been warm and cozy every time we’ve had to leave the house. We live in South Dakota so the winter can be quite cold and very windy. We have not had any worries that our baby isn’t warm enough. Definitely worth every penny.

    Review date : 2007-11-21
This is the BEST product ever to to buy for a baby in the winter time! It is so easy to put in and SO much easier then trying to keep the blanket covered up over them. I love mine so much and have been complimented by so many people! I even bought my friend one to keep her little girl warm and she loves it!

    Review date : 2006-01-01
I live in Northern GA and when I got pregnant I lived in Southern LA, never thinking I would need something heavier than a blanket for my infant son. After the first morning of scraping the frost off the front of my car with my 4 month old son waiting patiently inside the house for the car to warm up, I realized that I was wrong. I have the Graco Windsor Snugride travel system, so I ordered the Celadon Bundle Me, thinking that the two greens would match. It is not a perfect match, so I probably should have ordered the graphite instead, but as far as the product goes, my son loves it. I even unzip the top cover and use it as a mat when we play at friends’ houses or when we visit family as a top cover in his Pack and Play. My son likes to snuggle down into the Bundle Me and I like that I can just unzip part of it while we’re driving if he starts to get hot. I definitely suggest this for anyone who lives in a somewhat chilly area. I will probably invest in the Lite version once spring arrives; anything so my son doesn’t have to get bulked up with a sweater or jacket just to be comfortable in the weather.

Purchased the bouncer after my child had used a door way one. Didnt feel that it was very safe. There is not a day that goes by that my little one doesnt use it. Much safer than a doorway one and alot more fun. My little one loves being in it. Would strongly recommend it to new parents.

Review date : 2008-08-17
We purchased this jumperoo for our grandson a month ago after looking at several different types of jumpers. This by far was the best one for him. He loves all the attached toys and several make sounds and have lights (as grandparents, we can buy these things). The height is adjustable, which was important because he’s very tall for his age. He loves to jump, jump, jump in his jumperoo! Perfect. This is also a nice model because it’s stationary and well made. We highly recommend it.

Review date : 2008-07-31
This Jumperoo is made for fun times and it is NOT your parents’ Johnny Jump Up. :-)
This equipment is sturdy, colorful, well-made, and folds easily for moving or storage. I used it for my grandson when he was 6-11 months old and brought it out again when he was 14-17 months. He loved being in it for about 15 minutes at a time. This is a great toy/piece of equipment, but it is not a babysitter.

Review date : 2006-11-19
My 4 months old daughter LOVES her Jumperoo. She has loved to stand for awhile now and I knew that this would be perfect for her. She loves to sway back and forth in it and jump! She moves even more when the music is playing. She has even fallen asleep in it a few times from swaying back and forth.

I highly recommend this product!! Its a must have!

Review date : 2006-06-30
My 5 month old adores this thing. The adjustable straps are so nice to have. It is bigger than I had thought it would be, but no biggie. I would recommend one to everyone.

It was a spontaneous buy I made for our son when he was ~3 months old and it proved to be a great buy! Our son loves to play with the monkey, frog, bird etc and enjoys the blue light falls. His fascination with this has not faded in spite he being ~11 months old now (i.e. 8 months of seeing this bouncer day in day out), which speaks to the creative / attractive design of Fisherprice. Couple of things I’m not impressed with: 1) the mechanism does make some noise as the monkey / frog moves up and down; 2) the vibration is not powerful enough to make baby sleep and 3) the price ~40 bucks is still too high relative to other competitive products in the market. But overall, I’d give it a solid rating. Recommended buy!

Review date : 2008-12-14
My baby has recently started to notice the toys on the bouncer bar and he plays with them for a little while, but then starts crying to get out, he doesn’t like to stay in it for more than 10 minutes or so. He prefers the Rainforest gym over this bouncer.
Another detail regarding this bouncer is that you can’t turn it on and keep the music off. It would be much better if you had a "mute" option on the music but let the toys keep on moving.

Review date : 2008-12-09
My son absolutely loved this bouncer for almost 8 months! Well worth the price. When he was 6-8 weeks he would love the music and fall asleep to the vibrations. As he grew, he watched the water falls and the moving frog. Then started batting the hanging toys and amusing himself! He would be able to sit in there for quite some time and not get bored. Now he’s too big for it but still crawls up to it and likes playing with the toys.

The fabric is very durable and looks just as vibrant even after many washes.

I do wish those toys were removable though. When he was little, they would hurt his knees every time he kicked. It would’ve been nice to be able to remove them. Other than that, it is a great product.

Review date : 2008-12-08
I was really picky about what things i put on my registry and researched all the products thoroughly. This product got the best reviews from my research and it definitely paid off! From about 2 weeks we put him in the bouncer and it took him a bit to notice the waterfall but just the vibrations would calm him and allow us to wolf down some dinner. Now that he is almost 9 weeks he is VERY mesmerized by the waterfall and "talks" to it and gives it HUGE smiles. It works so well when he is awake and wants to play but mommy and daddy are trying to get dinner on the table or need some down time. My parents INSIST I give them one for X-mas for when they watch him! It seemed to last forever on the first set of batteries we put in it too.
Minor gripe: The monkey and parrot that dangle are too large and bump his legs at times but he doesnt seem to mind.

I’m considering getting the crib soother now too!

Review date : 2008-11-29
I purchased this bouncie seat to keep at my house for my 3 month old grandson who is approximately 14 1/2 lbs. It keeps him safe (always upervised in it) and happy with or without the toy attachment. The vibration is soothing and works like a charm. The soft rainforest music is a plus. We needed a spare seat to have at my home, so Mom and Dad did not have to transport more equipment with them when they visit. It was a great purchase for the price. So far, I have not found any problem with battery use, but always have spares on hand. Yes, I would recommend this seat.

Editorial Review

This full-featured high chair combines pleasant aesthetics (palm trees and plaid ruffles on beige) with contemporary engineering. Sturdy, easel legs with locking wheels can be adjusted for height in six positions. The idea was to make the chair feasible for any indoor or outdoor table, and it is. The seat (which has a machine-washable, stuffed cover) also reclines back in four positions, in case Baby stuffs himself on finger foods and needs belly space, in which case the deluxe food/toy trays can also be adjusted. Lastly, seat belts and a standard harness ensure a snug perch for baby and the chair’s wide-set, polished metal legs prevent toppling. –Diane Beall

Customer Reviews

Review date : 2008-08-02
The size of the chair is very odd. Our 8 month old is swimming in it. He sits very low and far back. We had to "add" padding by putting towels under the cover. Its an odd work around, but we didn’t feel like taking it back. Our friends purchased a FisherPrice - Easy Fold and that seems to be more appropriately sized. Also, the cover says not to machine wash… obviously a stupid restriction for a baby high chair cover.

Review date : 2008-07-17
I’m disappointed in this chair because I think Baby Trend usually makes good products. While it is easy to use, it seems geared toward bigger kids. My 10-month old always falls to the side of the chair and the tray is too high on her chest (she’s average height and has been sitting up for months).

I have been able to get food stains out of the fabric by washing the entire cover on Delicate cycle and then air-drying. However, the cushion on the bottom has bunched up inside the fabric and I have not been able to flatten it out.

My nephew has a Graco Contempo, which my daughter has used, and I like it much better because she sits up higher and the tray comes right to her at the appropriate height. When my daughter is done with this chair, I think I’ll sell it in a garage sale and get a Graco for the next kid.

Review date : 2008-06-30
This chair has lasted through my two kids with flying colors. I originally thought- ick, the fabric is going to be so much harder to keep clean over the plastic chairs, but not so. You just whip off the cover and throw it in the wash once a week and no more scrubbing caked-on spaghetti sauce by hand. The fabric holds up beautifully in the wash- no staining, ripping, and in this light color- no noticable fading. The straps can be tricky to thread through the little holes in the cover, but with a little practice, it’s not bad at all. This chair was so comfy and even great for infants when you just needed to set them down somewhere. Just tip the seat back, strap them in and they can hang out with you while you’re in the kitchen. The tray is pretty high for them at this age, but just fine when they grow a bit bigger.

I like how the tray comes off easily and hooks on the back for storage. The clip on extra tray is a godsend and fits just fine in my dishwasher. It also folds up easily when you need a little extra kitchen space. The adjustable height allowed my kids to sit at the table with us (without the tray) when they started wanting to be more "grown up". We all know how much fun THAT is.

I have absolutely no regrets over purchasing this chair. It’s well built, durable, easy to use, comfy for baby, and looks great in this particular pattern and not all disgustingly cutesy.

Review date : 2007-10-03
I liked this chair at first, but I was a new mom and really didn’t know what else was out there. The biggest problem for me is that the straps have never been snug enough to keep my daughter seated. As soon as she learned how to stand up, she was always climbing out of it (even when you make the straps as tight as possible). Even now, at 2 1/2 years old, she still gets right out of the 5-point harness without unbuckling it. Very dangerous and I can never take my eyes off of her. I do agree with the other reviewers that it is very hard to clean and you have to wash the tray by hand because it is so big. I took the pad off months ago and it’s ugly but at least I can just wipe it. I am now pregnant with my 2nd and will be looking for a different chair. This one is just too annoying. The wheels are its best feature and that’s not saying much. You think you need a recliner, but you really don’t.

Review date : 2007-08-27
This chair certainly has some great features - comfort, adjustable heights, recline, folding, etc. However, it’s so hard to keep clean! Cloth is simply a bad idea for a high chair - it literally has to be washed daily. For a particularly messy meal, you’re out of luck for the next meal. But, even worse are the straps! the lower strap cannot be removed and since it’s in the lap area gets FILTHY. there is virtually no way to clean it. the upper straps can be removed if you have a ton of time and patience. Overall, not a great design for something that gets used so often in such a messy context!

My son has loved this jumperoo since he could hold his head up. He has been using it from 5 months. He is now almost 8 months. He demands his jumping time. I love it! It gives me time to relax and watch him have the most fun ever! :-) It is worth every penny!!!! I even bought one for Grandma’s house. :-) Buy one for every house they will be at…You will thank your sanity. :-) My son loves the horse as much as his rain forest jumperoo.

Review date : 2008-11-10
We have to bounce it for him right now because he is to young, but I’m sure he will figure it out soon.. It works great and it’s a horse witch we love..

Review date : 2008-10-20
My five-month-old loves his Jumperoo–he’s happy to bounce up and down it for 20 minutes at a time. The horse noises and songs can get old pretty quickly, but it’s easy to control the volume or turn it off, and to make the songs play constantly or depend upon his bouncing. I wish I had had this toy when my older kids were babies!

Review date : 2008-10-08
My daughter looooves this! She will jump in it for hours! She loves to hear the horse and the song when she jumps! Best toy we have bought her yet! YAY fisher price! :)

Review date : 2008-10-06
this jumperoo was easy to assemble and my son loves it it has three height levels which is perfect other models had 4 this is the third model we have owned and the best by far. the music and sounds has two volume levels and the seat is easy to remove to wash this is recomended for four months and up my son was only 2 1/2 months and he learned to jump within 2 days he is very active and he is tall for his age but I would recomend buying your jumperoo at least 1 month before you think you will need it you may be surprised!

Looney Balloon Games For Kids Parties

Posted by User Imageadmin on January 5, 2009

What’s a kids party without balloons? Great for decorating, party favors, and of course, party games. Floating balloons, googly balloons, water balloons, screaming balloons … Here’s a great collection of looney balloon games kids will love.

BALLOON POP RELAY

Form guests into two lines facing a bag of balloons about 20 feet away. At the starting signal, guests must race to the balloon bag, take one out and pop it as quickly as possible by sitting on it, stepping on it, or any other means. They then race back and tag the next team member in their line. The first team to have every player pop a balloon is the winner.

BALLOON BALANCE

Blow up about 10-15 balloons and place them on the floor. Each guest has 2 minutes (use a timer) to pick up and hold as many balloons as possible. They must pick up the balloons all by
themselves without help, put them in their clothes, between their legs, under their arms, between their teeth, etc. Each guest takes a turn while the others watch and laugh themselves silly! The guest who holds the most balloons when their time is up is the winner.

BALLOON BOP

Form guests into a circle with an adult leader in the middle with a balloon. Each guest will have a chance to hit the balloon to keep it up, but here’s the catch. The leader will call out the person’s name and a body part, and they must use that body part to hit the balloon upwards to keep it in play. You can use hands, feet, knee, elbow, head, and hips or butt. Players who use the wrong body part or let the balloon fall to the ground are out. The last player standing with the
balloon in play is the winner.

CATCH THE BALLOON

Gather children in a circle around the adult leader. Toss a balloon in the air and call one child’s name. That child must catch the balloon before it touches the ground. If the child succeeds, she gets to toss the balloon and call the next name.

BALLOONS AND BEADS

Fill 20-30 balloons with two to four beads each and hide the filled balloons around the house or yard. Divide guests into groups of two and tie one set of hands and one set of feet together. Each team must find as many balloons as they can, pop them by themselves, and return with their beads. The team with the most beads at the end of the game is the winner.

GOOGLY BALLOONS

Blow up balloons, putting a small marble through the neck of each one before tying the end. This makes the balloons move in unexpected ways. Release into the group one more balloon
than children. The object is to keep the balloons up in the air. Play this in two teams, each side with an extra balloon. The team who lets a balloon drop to the floor first loses.

FLOATING BALLOONS

Pass out a large balloon to each guest. Let them blow up their balloon and offer your help tying each one securely. The object of this game is to hit the balloons up into the air and keep them afloat for the longest period of time. This is a fun and easy way to start or end any party!

BALLOON POP

Place notes inside un-inflated balloons, one or two of the notes should indicate that this balloon is a winner. Inflate the balloons and hang them around. Let each child pick a balloon then pop it to see if their note is a winner.

BALLOON FAVORS

Before the party, insert a small, light-weight party favor such as a sticker, into the opening of a balloon before inflating it. Then, inflate the balloon and repeat until you have a balloon for each guest. Use these balloons to decorate the party area. At the end of the party, each guest may take
a balloon and pop it by sitting on it, kicking it, etc. to get the prize hidden inside.

ROUND UP THE HERD

For this game you will need two brooms, a long string to mark your course, six balloons (and a few extra in case any should pop). Set up an obstacle course in your party area using boxes,
chairs, bushes, trees, etc. Mark the path of your obstacle course with string.

Divide your party guests into two teams and line up both teams at the starting line. Give the first person in each line a broom and three balloons. (Be sure to use different colored balloons for each team). They must use the broom to herd their wild ponies (balloons) through the course.

Each player must herd their balloons through the entire course to complete their turn. The first team to finish the course, wins! If a balloon pops during a player’s turn, he or she must take a new balloon to the starting line and begin again.

BALLOON RELAY RACE #1

Instruct the children to stand in two single-file lines, facing
forward. Place a balloon between the knees of the first child in each line. When the race starts, the first child on each team turns to face the next person in line. The second child must grasp the balloon with his or her knees and turn to
pass it on to the third person, and so on. If the balloon falls to the ground, the team must start
over. The first team to successfully pass the balloon down the line, wins!

BALLOON RELAY RACE #2

Divide guests into two or more equal teams and have them stand in a line. Give each team ten balloons in a basket or trash bag. The first child in each line takes a balloon and runs to the other side of the room and sits or stomps on the balloon to pop it. They then run back to the line and tag the next person who does the same thing. The winning team is the one who pops all their balloons the fastest.

WATER BALLOON TOSS

Fill up to 50 water balloons, depending the number and place them in large buckets. Divide guests into teams of two, standing and facing each other. They begin by tossing a water
balloon back and forth, taking a step backward with each toss. If the balloon pops, the team is out. The last team with an intact balloon wins.

MUSICAL WATER BALLOONS

Guests sit in a large circle, about 4 feet apart. They must pass a water balloon around the circle as music is played, without breaking it. Everyone who gets wet is out, as well as each person left with the balloon when the music stops

SCREAMING BALLOONS

This isn’t a party game, but it’s just as fun as one! Tell kids you know how to make a balloon scream. Before the party, drop a hex nut into a latex balloon and inflate. When you’re ready to demonstrate, hold the balloon in both hands and move it rapidly in a circular motion. Can you hear it scream?

The unique six-sided shape of the hex nut vibrates the walls of the balloon as it moves, producing a rather unique “screaming” sound.

Stock up on hex nuts and balloons because all your party guests will want to try this one!

Piano Lesson Books Help Children In Piano Build Confidence

Posted by admin on January 5, 2009

Would you send your child to math class without their math book? Would you send your child to English class without their English book? Would you send your child to Science class without their Science book? Of course you wouldn?t. So help your child in piano lessons stay organized so they?ll have the proper materials with them at their piano lesson.

Contrary to the popular belief of piano students this will not happen by itself. Planning ahead is the only solution. You can help your child in piano get organized for their piano lesson, however, by establishing a piano routine the night before. Purchasing a piano bag is a great way to keep your child organized. You?ll need to teach your child to use their piano bag though. On the morning of piano lesson day there should be no piano lessons books on the piano, because all your child?s lesson books need to be in their piano bag. Then the piano bag needs to go into the car. This way your child will have their lesson books when you arrive at the piano studio.

The most common reason students give for not bringing their music is that they left it on the piano. Don?t just ask your child on the way to the car, ?Do you have your piano bag?? Check to see if any books are left at the piano. It doesn?t do any good to take a piano bag to class if it doesn?t have any books in it, or the right books.

Sometimes children will leave a book at home with a song in it that they had trouble with. Avoiding the music is one way for child to deal with this, but of course a better way is to get more help from their piano teacher. Sometimes it takes a couple of lessons before students feel comfortable playing a piece at home. Not bringing their books, however, doesn?t provide children enough time to overcome challenges when learning new skills and music. Don?t let your child give up too easily by leaving their music on the piano.

Good habits take time to develop so be patient. Keep trying to get the Piano Lesson Book Habit. Over time it will serve your child in piano lessons well as they build confidence and achieve their musical goals.
