No matter what your traditions are, it is important to celebrate Independence Day. If you live in the US, or are living outside the country and yearning for a bit of home, there is never a better time to celebrate this historic day. Yet, what are some of the best ways to do it? Is this your first 4th of July here? Are you looking for a new way to celebrate? Or, are you heading out on your own for the first time, looking to start a new tradition?
There are some things that just go hand in hand with Independence Day. You just have to have a picnic, outdoors, under the blazing July sun. But, there is more to it than just that. How about the people you are with? What about where you are at? Don’t forget the food. Let’s break it down.
Traditionally, your 4th of July celebration will happen out of doors. But, this is not necessary if the weather is not right for it. The most traditional of examples of a celebration is a BBQ in which people come to share in good foods and the beautiful weather. It can happen at your home, at a local park, down by the beach or virtually any place that is suitable. Here is a list of things to think about when planning a get together.
Location. Find the right location; make arrangements with park officials if necessary. Make sure there is enough seating, a place to get out of the sun and activities to keep everyone busy.
Food. Plan for easy to make and eat foods. Finger foods work best as people usually are not looking to sit down with a knife and china at this type of a celebration. Look for a few options for everyone, including some that may not enjoy meats, something for those that are looking for alcoholic beverages and a variety of foods. Make it a potluck for an even easier celebration.
Something to do. When it comes to the 4th of July, you do have to give everyone something to do. Whether that is a sport like volleyball or baseball, swimming, or just some fun crafts for kids, get them all busy and having a good time.
Celebrating the 4th of July should be fun and easy to do. Do not over think it and keep it a light atmosphere and you all will have a great time.

Throwing an animal theme party can be great fun. You might want to narrow down your animal theme to something smaller. From farm animals, zoo animals etc. this will give you a smaller group to work with. Fpr something smaller to work with go with just one animal group.
For any animal theme you have a lot of room to do whatever you want. For a wider theme you can have a better chance of finding some animal themed invitation cards. Make sure you get them ready a good month before the party, that way you can send them out two to three weeks before your party.
From there you can start getting the items for your animal theme. For each different animal theme you’ll need different items. For a farm animal theme, then you could set up barn like atmosphere where you’re having the party. Add some hay to the grass! For a jungle animal theme, adding leaves and jungle vines will give you’re party a little extra something.
For an animal theme party for younger kids, you could suggest in your invite that they can dress up as their favorite animal. You could also provide some customs, or someone that could paint an animal on the guests. If this is not a good idea, then why not a sticker, or a page from a color book? This way each kid can pick and use what animal they want to be.
Be creative! Place cut outs of animals around your party area. Have a small description of each. You could even play a game with this. Ask the kids to place the animals next to the names.
There are plenty of ways to make a animal party more meaningful but it should always be lots of fun.

Just like a professional easel, this work station is generously sized so that children can complete projects both big and small. Its durable wood construction ensures that it won’t tip and it folds up easily for convenient storage. The easel also has a sturdy paint tray with cup holders for easy use and clean-up, and another tool tray that holds erasers, chalks, and clips. Four large, colorful clips are included with this easel. Paper rolls can be loaded effortlessly into the holder and a paper cutting edge at the top delivers clean cuts and leaves your artist’s work whole. It also has an adjustable height that grows with the creator and delivers years of use. Pros - height adjustable, two kids can use it at once, easy to assemble, relatively inexpensive
Cons - wood is cheap and unfinished (I’ve gotten splinters and had to sand parts to avoid getting more), dry-erase board came damaged and still have yet to receive the replacement that Melissa&Doug customer service said was on it’s way.
Overall - this is great if you can get it at a cheap price and need to use both sides at once. We keep it in the garage and use it on the driveway for painting only (never have used the dry-erase or chalkboard features). If I were getting it for inside of my house I would go for a higher end product.

My son received this easel for his 2nd birthday and he LOVES it - especially the chalkboard side (which works very well).
The easel is very well constructed out of quality materials like all of the Melissa and Doug products we have purchased to date.
We also have the Easel Companion Set that is made to compliment this easel and all the products in it are high quality.
I would highly recommend this easel to others.

Love the shelves that hold the paint. Daughter uses this often. For the money, I don’t think you can beat this easel.

I bought the Melissa and Doug Art Easel for my 18 month old son after falling in love with it at a friend’s house. I couldn’t believe how much he enjoyed drawing and coloring on it and was just as happy when he showed the same excitement after we bought him one of his own. I bought the accessory pack and have only used the crayons, paper, and chalk due to my son’s age and my only dissapointment is with the chalk. It is really chalky and makes a mess on clothes, furniture, etc. I will probably buy new chalk and try it again when he is older. Otherwise, I am completely satisfied with this product and would recommend to anyone who has a child just waiting to explore his/her creative side.

This easel is awesome. I got it for my daughter’s birthday, and she’s been using it ever since. We get so many uses out of it, and I’m using it while I homeschool her too. All in all, this is a must buy and a great addition for any budding artist and curious child.

The Hulk, a.k.a the Incredible Hulk has many powers beyond his normal superhuman strength and stamina. He can heal from even major wounds, incredibly quickly as his name implies. Hulk can also speak to and see spiritual or astral bodies from another plane. He is invulnerable to attacks, and he has a strong resistance to mental control. Since the Incredible Hulk was born from exposure to Gamma radiation, he can also absorb prodigious amounts of this radiation and use it to grow stronger.
When the Hulk was first conceived of, Stan Lee decided to make the Hulk gray in color because he didn?t want to imply any specific ethnic group. So for the first few issues the Hulk was varying shades of gray and even a gray green. This is because at the time coloring technology at the printers was unable to consistently reproduce a good gray color. Eventually Lee gave into arguments and just made the Hulk green, a much easier color to reproduce. Also in the early comic book series, Dr. Bruce Banner changed into the Hulk as sunset. It wasn?t until later that he only changed into the Hulk when he became panicked or angry. The Hulk has a love interest in Betty, the daughter of General Thaddeus Ross. Betty tries endlessly to stop her father?s endless mission to find the Hulk and catch or destroy him. In later issues of the Hulk series Betty is killed off, causing a rehabilitated Hulk to turn into a rampaging destructive force.
The original Hulk comic book was cancelled after six issues, but the Hulk has continued on in many forms. He?s had running guest appearances in other comics, he?s had new comics of his own, including the long running, The Incredible Hulk comic, a cartoon series, a live action television show, and movies. So the Hulk has had a long running success.

Although tattoos have become all the rage in the west of recent years, I still have to say that I think tattoos on woman, and particularly big tattoos and those on the arms, neck, and face, are nothing short of grotesque. I wonder how many of these young women think about how they will look when they are old ladies bouncing their grandchildren up and down on their laps with floppy images that have become impossible to recognize due to aging flesh!
Hmm! Anyway, that’s enough of my opinions of the permanent markings of young adults as I’d like to write about the entertaining and temporary way to paint the body and in particular the face. That’s right, kids are getting into body art too but for them it’s fun, it’s amusing, and most importantly, it’s washable.
Face painting designs come in all forms from fairies, butterflies, and pretty patterns for the girls, and perhaps dragons, beasts and ghouls for the boys. In fact, face paintings are limited only by the designers own imagination. One thing’s for sure, the kids love having their faces painted and it’s just great to see them get excited as they flick through the catalogue of face painting designs.
Clowns are perhaps the most popular for the lads whereas the beautiful butterfly designs are favored by the girls. Butterfly designs are more difficult and often the wingspan is stretched across the face from eyebrow to eyebrow and down along the cheek bones.
Whichever face paint designs your kids prefer, the good news is that you can find these face painters quite easily nowadays and it’s not just for summer fun either. Parties, Halloween, Christmas, Easter, in fact you name it there are themes for every occasion or quiet often, it’s simply a treat for the kids just for being good.
But here’s the weird thing! Face painting used to just be popular among the kids, but now many adults are getting into the fad too and one fashionable form of new-age face painting for grownups involves decorating a face according to a famous painting such as the Mona Lisa for example, or American Gothic. These are really fascinating to look at as they also include the picture frame into the design. National flags, and maps are becoming common too, especially at sporting events.
I guess it’s nice to see folks lightening up in a world that seems to be increasingly more hostile and serious. Let the kids be kids and the adults be childlike, that’s what I say! Face paining designs definitely bring out the spirit of fun and laughter into any event. Oh, and don’t forget, although it’s the face that gets painted the most, you can actually get any part of your body decorated with this washable art, so don’t be coy!
Just to finish on, as I started with rather a harsh criticism of tattoos and women, I’d just like to mention that there is a growing trend with temporary tattoos which last on the skin for a few days. As there are no dress rehearsals regarding permanent tattoos, I always think it’s a good idea to get a temporary tattoo of about the same size and design placed where you want the permanent one to go. This will give you a few days to decide whether if it’s really what you want of not. Have fun!

I bought a Bob Revolution Duallie stroller with the car seat adapter, not knowing that it only would hold one car seat - and I’m having twins! After much searching, I found this inexpensive stroller that would hold 2 car seats and not take up a ton of room in my vehicle (or stores, pediatricians office, etc..). I was a bit skeptical after reading some reviews because I have Grace snugride carseats - but it is a wonderful product. I put it together in no time at all and adjusted the bars for the perfect fit with my Grace car seats! My twins aren’t here yet, but I know this will get a lot of use while they are in their car seats! It is easy to maneuver and fold and unfold. The basket seems roomy enough and the parent tray is the bomb! It is true you will only use it while they are in their car seats, but at $89 (WalMart) - my sanity and ease of movement is worth every penny! Good luck - if you are having twins, this is a must!

When we found out we were having triplets, we like all other multiple parents bought a stroller to accommodate all the babies. The stroller is so large that we can not even fit it into a mini van. We have to purchase a large SUV or Full size van to go anywhere.
We bought the Latch Lock carriers from baby trend and we just love them. When we saw the stroller that went along with them. We decided to order the Double Snap N Go.
The stroller comes all put together, you just need to snap on the wheels. Then comes the fun part. The stroller is made for many different brands of carriers. You find the carrier you are using in the instruction manual and then you remove bars or rearrange them to fit your carrier. It is very simple and all the parts are well labeled.
The carriers just snap on to the top, just like when you snap them into the base that is in the car. There is a strap that goes over the lower half of the carrier to prevent it from rocking or coming off the stroller. It is great because you do not have to unsnap your baby from the car seat and them snap them into the stroller. No need to transfer toys and blankets from car seat to stroller. What a time saver.
It is very light weight and easy to set up. I pull it out of the trunk and just snap and lock it into place. I then just snap the carriers in place and we are off. It takes up the same amount of room that a normal single travel system would take up.
For all you shoppers out there. I took the stroller into a women’s clothing store and was able to easily navigate the store. The stroller handles very well. The front wheels are adjustable. You can set them for straight ahead or let them rotate.
Because we have 3 babies, we easily become a tourist attraction. The stroller handles so well that I was able to move swiftly and accurately through spectators and display racks.
We love the Double Snap N Go so much that we have asked for the Single Snap N Go for our Baby Shower.

I was hesitant to purchase this due to one of the reviews that claimed incompatibility with Graco Snugrides.
Since old version wasn’t availalbe, I went ahead and purchased this new version. The review turned out to be false.
You have to adjust the bars for Graco but, once adjusted, my two new Snugrides fitted well. Adjustment instruction for Graco and others car seat is described in the manual.
The new version also looks well constructed. I gave 4 stars since I haven’t used it with our twins yet.
Review date : 2007-09-24
I couldn’t imagine life without this stroller. I was on the waitlist here at Amazon until the new stroller came out in June of 2007-My twins were born in May. This stroller is 10 times better than the older blue version. This is only a small investment in keeping your sanity while trying to "haul" around twins. The Graco Carseats (Safe Seat) that we use work perfect in this stroller. It’s easy to steer, folds down to a reasonable size (fits in the back of our SUV and car trunk), has a nice size pouch for storage under the seats and the cup holders on the parent tray are awesome. We use the little compartment between the cup holders to hold a small bottle of hand-santizer and trial-size tissue. I also loved the fact that the kids were "in-line" facing me, so I could easily monitor them. Yes, this stroller is only good while the kids are in infant seats, but trust me this is worth every dime!
Review date : 2007-08-21
Beware! The new Double Snap N Go (the one here, with the silver bars) does NOT fit Graco Snugride carseats. The old Double Snap N Go (all black or all navy) is more universal and does fit Graco Snugrides.

Decided that it’s time to throw a part and need to decide on some great party decorations? First off you need to start with what kind of theme you want to have. With picking a theme you’ll be able to narrow down your party decorations. Even the time of the year will narrow down what you are going to need.
From Halloween to Christmas each one will have different party decoration. For Halloween you’ll have orange and black as your main color scheme, for Christmas it’ll be red and green, or silver and gold, you’ll have a lot more lea way with colors. Each theme will have different kind of extras you can throw in, like with Christmas you’ll be able to find a friend or hire someone to come dressed as Santa.
If you’re just deciding to have a get together you can start with a colors as to start of you party decorations. If you’re going for a fun feel find something that is bright. Balloons and streamers are a great way to start, they are fun and they’ll fill up a lot of space.
If you’re going with more of a classic look for your party decorations then you can go with softer colors or metallic colors. You’ll be able to find balloons in this color also. You’ll be able to make your party have a more classic look with fabric tablecloths. You can find them cheaply and you can even wash them after word and use them again!
Now all you have to place everything together. Make sure you find a few friends to help you set up for your party, that way you aren’t scrambling to get everything done at the last minute. Make sure you set up with enough time to take a few minutes to breath and get ready yourself before your guests arrive. Hopefully you’re party will be a hit!

Many parents are taking advantage of homeschooling opportunities to give their young children a solid academic foundation. Learning piano has so many benefits for children that homeschool parents want to give their kids this important musical foundation as well. If this is you, however, you may not realize how easy this is to do right in your own home. You don’t even need to hire a piano teacher, but you can if you want to.
Just as children need their parents to read to them and teach the alphabet, parents can also teach their young children the foundational “music Language” skills for piano or keyboard. If you can teach your child the alphabet, you can also give them an important foundation at home for learning to read music and understand keyboard theory. Even if your young children are already taking piano lessons, piano teachers don’t have time in a 30 minute weekly lesson to give kids the complete foundation they need to read music easily. But parents can. There are so many resources available online for parents who homeschool their children, and piano lessons are no exception. And you don’t have to do it alone. Enlist the help of your homeschool friends.
By starting a piano club you can invite your friends’ children to share this wonderful opportunity. Even if they’re already taking piano lessons they’ll have a great time together, and learn even more. A small-group experience is a valuable way to learn because it models a family. I recommend two to five children. Each child can come to club meetings with their own portable keyboard. Here’s what else you’ll need.
1. A room large enough for each child to set up their keyboard.
2. Portable keyboard stands and benches.
3. A table with chairs for children to play theory games.
4. A computer with speakers.
5. A printer
For teaching materials there are many resources available that you can download with easy to follow parent’s guides. They include stories, games, videos, music and piano lessons. These materials will be great for your piano club, because they’re very affordable. Plus you can print them for each child in your group to use and take home with them. Basic keyboard theory is not hard to teach or understand. With the right tools and resources, anyone can start an awesome piano club in their own home. So don’t wait to give your children the gift of music!
For great home piano activities parents can use to help children ages 5 to 11 develop their musical talent, visit Piano Adventure Bears Music Education Resources You’ll find a treasure box filled with piano resources to create an exciting musical adventure for your child - right in your own home! This is great for keeping the baby’s hands and legs in. We got it because she used to get her leg stuck between the bars all the time. Unfortunately it comes in 2 pieces that didn’t fit our crib. We took it to a local tailor who adjusted the velcro and sewed it into one long piece that now fits. I recommend it.
Review date : 2008-08-25
I originally bought this product for my active 6 month old. She was constantly getting her limbs caught in the crib rails. After putting in the crib, I realized it is also a great tool for trapping her Nuk when it falls out of her mouth during the night. I wish I would have purchased this item for my first daughter who is now 2! Well worth the money.
