Start off your thanksgiving holiday right with some fun and free thanksgiving games to keep the guests entertained. These are easy little activities that help remind everyone of the point of the thanksgiving holiday while keeping everyone involved.
Its autumn and outside there is a veritable wonderland of interesting stuff. Have the guests get all bundled up and head outside while waiting for the food to cook with this Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt. You’ll need to make up a list of the following items that the guests can find by themselves or they can break up into groups to scavenge. They are:
a red leaf
a brown leaf
an orange leaf
a yellow leaf
a pine cone
an acorn
a walnut
a dried weed or pod
a seed
a piece of bark
a sweet gum ball
dried berries
feather
The first group to get all of the items or to get the most items wins. You can hand out special prizes for winning such as feather boas which are made from turkey feathers.
The Giving Thanks game is a fun activity that also helps to remind the family what the point of Thanksgiving really is all about. Have everyone sit in a circle and start off the game with a sentence that lists something really unusual that you are thankful for such as, ‘I am thankful for Hotdogs because’ and then the person to your right has to finish the sentence with the reason why they are thankful. When they’ve completed the sentence they get to begin a new one with the wildest subject they can think of to be thankful for. This can be anything, aliens, feet, or even sneezes. Try and keep the circle going as long as you can.

Every teen loves the idea of a pool party, and with a little careful planning, so can the parents! Swim suits, flip flops, beach towels…does anyone smell coconut oil? Boy, just thinking about a pool party makes me think of fruity tropical punch, suntan oil, and LOTS of splishing and splashing!
Since every party must have music, and lots of it, invitations could be printed onto blank CDs, which the partygoer could record with favorite music that could be played during the party, exchanged as party favors, or even given as their gift to the party honoree.
Even this late in the season, there MUST be lots of cold, cold drinks available, and through trial and error, I have found that the big, round cookers with the disposable cup rack and push button spigot, works wonderfully. Filled with an Iced tropical punch, and several trash bins placed advantageously, clean up is kept to a minimum. Depending on the time of day for the party, there can be hot dogs on a grill, served with baked beans and potato salad, or just chips, or veggies and dips, and for flair and function, try putting sand buckets and shovels filled with Reese’s pieces and M&Ms in a shady area, available for guests to serve themselves.
Balloon diving is a super game. Preparation for it is to write numbers on pieces of paper put inside inflated balloons, tossed into the pool. Each person takes a turn diving, and at the end of the game, the person with the highest number gets to choose a gift (inexpensive flip flops, sunglasses, T-shirts, glow in the dark bracelets or necklaces, nail polish, travel board games, etc.) with each successive number picking out a gift. Just be sure you have two extra gifts, one for a girl, and one for a boy, in case the last gift is nail polish, or lip gloss, and the final recipient is a boy. Just a little bit of planning, a pool, food, drinks, and music and your pool party will not only be a success, it will practically create itself.

Have your invites ready, your party planned and decided that you need some party favors. These favors could be something that will go with every theme, like dinner mints or chocolate. If you know that kids are coming to the party you are planning you can find some small boxes of crayons and find some great pictures for them to color online.
With themes you can take your party favors from there. If you’re having a simple dinner party print the recipe of what you served on a card, maybe even have some more printed up that people can look through and find. There are a ton of recipes online you can find and print.
With any type of larger theme, Halloween, Christmas, weddings you’ll be able to find more party favors easier. If you want to plan a head and have the room, why not grow some pumpkins that guest can carve or take home. With Christmas you could be able to find some smaller Christmas stockings that people can take home or you could set up a table where they can decorate one of the stockings.
If your not doing a holiday theme then you can become creative with what party favors you can find. With a new years party you can buy hats and streamers, same with most birthdays. If you’re going for more of different theme like music you could give prizes away for who came the furthest to best dress and so many more. Maybe even mention this on your invites, that why you’ll have more people show!
With all the types of party favors you can find, you’ll be able to have a great party in no time. If you plan well and search for the perfect party favors you’ll have a great party!

“The eBay eBook market is dead, flooded, useless and a waste of time.” I am a little tired of reading those comments in various forums and message boards. In my opinion the eBay eBook market has never been better, that is if you know how to use eBay to your advantage.
You may/may not know this but eBooks are probably the easiest way to make money on eBay as everything can be fully automated. I am a fan of eBooks with resale rights simply for their viral nature. As other eBay members sell my products they are advertising my services. About 90% of all my website traffic comes from eBooks I have written myself.
The eBay eBook market is crying out for new material, so give them some, give them an eBook you have written yourself and grant master resale rights and let everyone fight over one another to sell it, let them sell it for 1 cent as they battle for feedback. Who cares, as long as the eBook you have provided was created by you and benefits you long term.
Allow your eBooks to be copied and redistributed freely on eBay and they will spread like a virus across the Internet, each one of them a homing beacon leading the way back to your eBay store/website so the whole viral process can start again.
You can also generate a very generous affiliate income by granting resale rights to your eBooks, simply include relevant affiliate links in the form of recommendations and you will see your affiliate income rocket.
Do you have a high priced product for sale? You do! Well why not provide a taster in the form of an eBook then provide the solution in your high priced item. If you don’t have your own high priced product to promote consider clickbank products as an alternative.
If you grant resale rights you need to make it as easy as possible for the eBook to be re-sold, first of all a short statement at the start of your eBook explaining the eBook can be resold is essential, simply explain your eBook can be resold as long as it is not modified.
Also provide all the tools necessary to enable your eBook to be re-sold, include multiple book covers, graphics and a sales page. The easier you make it to re-sell the eBook the more chance you will have of it going viral.
Creating your own eBook is not an easy task. There is research, writing, compiling and a variety of other skills and time-consuming measures involved. It is also not necessarily a perfect fit for every eBook seller on eBay. Some sellers are not interested in writing or simply do not have the skills required to create their own eBook. If this is the case you may want to consider hiring a freelance writer or ghostwriter to produce an eBook or to pursue different avenues within the eBay eBook selling marketplace. Also, private label content is a good option.
However, if you have the skill to produce, or the willingness to create a unique eBook you can profit tremendously. Selling eBooks to which you and others have resale rights to can be profitable, but exclusive ownership of your own title with links to your products and services gives you a massive advantage over your eBay competitors.

The Boy Scouts of America are about as apple pie as you can get in the United States, but we are seeing this tradition die. The Boy Scouts are being attacked by the gay community due to their associations tradition. Unfortunately this hurts the kids and indeed it does not help the Gay and Lesbian Association to attack the Boy Scouts of America, as it divides us all.
It seems a little bizarre, attacking an organization like the Boy Scouts of America, as it only hurts the kids and does not solve the Homosexual preference issues with the Boy Scout’s leadership’s homophobia? If the Gay and Lesbian groups intend to bring about change in this organization they need to do it in a different way. One, which does not hurt the children or their belief in the values of the boy scouts, but rather educates and teaches tolerance and different perspectives.
I propose to the Gay and Lesbian groups to stop the assault on the Boy Scouts as it serves no real purpose, instead find a different approach. Hurting or suing various Boy Scout Groups throughout the country only distances supporters of the Gay movement and divides our nation. Additionally it completely confuses our youth. Perhaps everyone needs to stop and think who we are really hurting in this whole thing; the kids.

My daughter loves to spend money - my money. When it comes to her money, she’s a real miser. This is very apparent around holiday time. When she sees ads for new and exciting gifts (read expensive), she wants me to buy them as Christmas presents for her friends and family members (including her, of course).
This year I told her she was responsible for buying all the gifts for her family and friends. She looked at me blankly. The National Bank Of Mom had unexpectedly shut down.
I did give her some money for shopping, but I told her that if she wanted to spend anything over that, she’d have to use money she’d saved up from her allowance. It was amazing to see the transformation from spender to bargain hunter. Suddenly a trip to the Dollar Store wasn’t boring, it was a great idea.
She did complain about how hard it was to stay within the budget so I told her to be creative. When I was young we made gifts for our family. (I know, I know, no kid wants to hear about what happened when their parents were growing up unless it’s really embarrassing and they can make fun of you.)
My daughter was mildly interested until I told her that one year we made closet sachets out of oranges and cloves. They were fun to make and smelled great. As I talked, the look on my daughter’s face told me that she obviously thought that my body had been taken over by aliens, very uncool aliens apparently. How could I even consider something like that?
So I suggested other gifts she could make:
No Whining Day Certificate. I know it might be easier to find a unicorn in my backyard, but I have high hopes that she can actually go a whole day without complaining.
Grandparent Fun Day Certificate. A day where she invites her grandparents to do something that they would like to do (I would even pay for this). This certificate also includes a No Whining clause, so she can’t complain when they suggest that they’d like to go to a museum. Who know, she might even enjoy it.
25 Reasons Why I Love You List. This won’t cost anything but it could be my favorite gift. It would be great to have my daughter tell me why she loves me. (Of course, she does tell me that she loves me, but sometimes she says it right before she confesses that she did something I’m going to be really mad about.) It would also be nice to have some written proof that she loves me on the days when she’s sulky and the only people she’ll speak to are on the other end of a cell phone.
Actually I think that’s a great idea. Instead of going to the stores today, I’m going to start to write I Love You lists to give to my family members. I hope you will too. Happy Holidays!

The educational benefits of piano for children rely on their natural learning abilities, so why underestimate your child’s intelligence when choosing piano learning resources. While your expectations should not be unrealistic, neither should you rely on learning resources that are beneath your child’s intelligence. Many of the products I have seen advertised for children could just as easily be used to train a monkey to play a few notes on the piano. Sure they’re easy, but don’t fool yourself or your child. With these methods kids are not learning to play the piano. They’re just learning to push buttons! There is no educational benefit to this. Any kid with half a brain can do that!
Learn to spot this circus act before it confuses your child. It looks like this -
“Put Stickers on the Piano Keys to Teach Your Kids to Play the Easy Way!”
“Teach Your Kids to Play Piano by Number!”
“Teach Your Kids to Play Piano by Color!”
Even young children can learn genuine musical concepts found in piano and keyboard theory with the proper learning resources. Don’t rely on products that are false or unrealistic, get the real thing. In addition to improved math and reading skills and improved overall education progress, here are five more valuable benefits your children will receive when learning piano using the right tools and resources.
How to -
1. Set Goals to achieve their music dreams;
2. Overcome worries and performance fears;
3. Become more patient with their learning;
4. Be persistent in their lessons; and how to
5. Take responsibility for their success.

Children in piano lessons need opportunities to perform, but all of these opportunities don’t need to involve a formal recital in a rented hall on a 9 foot Steinway. Piano recital parties can be rather spontaneous events that allow children to enjoy sharing their music with other kids and their family and friends in a relaxed way. Here’s a great piano party idea that kids and their families always enjoy. If you’re a parent, share this idea with your child’s piano teacher and offer to be a helper at this fun event.
Winter Holiday Open House - The Winter Holiday Open House is a fun, outdoor piano event. In my piano studio the music is amplified outdoors where family and friends gather for Cookies and Cider while they listen to as many student performances as they have time for. This recital is an open house. That means, for example, it is open to students and their families between certain hours. I generally hold my piano studio’s Winter Holiday Open House on a Sunday between 12:30 and 2:30. At that time the other offices around my studio are closed and there is plenty of parking available.
Since I have a nice lawn next to our building, I set up canopy tents with tables for refreshments and rent plenty of chairs so folks can stay as long as they wish and be comfortable. The students come into the studio to play Christmas Music as well as other pieces they have selected to play for this event.
To make this event even more fun for kids I set up a craft table with volunteers to help students and their friends make a Christmas Ornament. This makes a nice memory for kids to take home with and hang on their Christmas tree as a reminder of their Winter Holiday Recital Party. Each year they make a new ornament. I also hold a drawing for a couple of cute and cuddly stuffed animals. Parents fill out a survey to let me know how their children’s lessons are going from their perspective and by doing so they enter their student in the drawing. Year after year parents have told me how much they enjoy this “friendly social.”

The easiest way to plan a great kids party is to start with a theme into which all the different party elements fit perfectly. Your most important input in deciding on the party theme should come from the party child.
Consider his or her interests and favorite things, such as sports, hobbies, cartoon characters, TV shows, books, animals, and so on. Kids love to be involved in the party planning - the anticipation is part of the fun!
Next, consider each of the party elements in relation to your chosen theme. These elements include invitations, decorations, cake, costumes, games, food, and favors. You don’t have to use
all of the elements, but once you get brainstorming you’ll probably want to!
INVITATIONS
Invitations can be homemade from your computer or fashioned by the party child. There are lots of internet sites which offer many themed designs at a reasonable cost, or you can even send
invitations via email. Don’t be afraid to try new ideas such as writing party details on a balloon, deflating it and mailing to guests.
DECORATIONS
Decorations are easy if you stick with the basics. Balloon bunches and crepe paper streamers go a long way toward setting a festive party atmosphere. A handmade greeting sign on the front door welcomes guests to your party spot. A plastic tablecloth decorated with markers by the party child lends a personal touch, and his or her toys can double as party accents, if they fit with the party theme.
CAKE
The party cake is an indispensable part of your celebration, but it needn’t be from a fancy (and pricey) bakery. A simple rectangular cake adorned with a few of your child’s small plastic toys makes a perfectly acceptable cake. Try grouping cupcakes on a platter with a candle in each to serve as a nontraditional cake.
Better still, let party guests frost and decorate their own cupcakes. How about making a birthday cookie or “pizza” by baking pre-made cookie dough in a pizza pan and frosting it? An internet search for “birthday cakes” will also provide you with many popular cake designs and ideas.
COSTUMES
Costumes are a fun addition to your party plan, especially when guests get to become their own party-themed character. Make a habit of collecting hats, scarves, bandannas, sunglasses, fabric, and other clothing items that can be transformed into simple costumes. Yard sales and resale stores often yield used costumes, hats, ribbon, etc. at a fraction of their original cost.
Facepainting easily makes party guests into pirates, monsters, clowns, you name it.
GAMES
Competitive games are the best way to get all the guests engaged and excited. It’s easy to take many traditional games and give them a clever twist to fit with your party theme. For example, “pin the tail on the donkey” becomes “pin the crown on the princess” for a princess party. “Freeze tag” becomes “frozen zombies” for a Halloween or monster party. “Hot potato” can be “pass the parrot” for a pirate party, and so on.
FOOD
Kids party food should be simple, as guests are usually too excited to eat much anyway. Plan an easy entree such as pizza or finger sandwiches and provide various munchies such as cut-up
vegetables and dip, grapes and apple slices. The cake and ice cream will provide enough sugar to keep kids happy.
If you want to get a little fancier, visit the many cooking websites for thousands of recipes to inspire you. Food can also be designed to fit with the party theme. For instance, chicken wings become “pteradactyl wings” for a dinosaur party, punch can be a “love potion” for a princess party, chicken tenders can be “golden nuggets” for a pirate party, you get the idea.
FAVORS
Party favors extend the fun and fuzzy feeling kids get from partying! There’s nothing like having “a little something” as a remembrance of a fun day. Goody bags are always popular; even though parents sometimes object to the candy and plastic toys, kids still love ‘em!
Gift certificates to fast food restaurants are a hit too, as are books, glow necklaces, and simple personalized toys. “Make and take” party favors are the best as kids get to create and keep their own special parting gifts.
Creating a party theme is easy if you take it step by step and plan ahead. You may find that planning your child’s party can be as fun as the party day itself!
