Bat Mitzvah Celebration of 12 Year Old Jewish Females Coming of Age

Posted by User Imageadmin on January 30, 2007

When a Jewish girl turns 12 years of age, they are recognized, through Bat Mitzvah, as full-fledged adult women. This rite of passage involves a celebratory rite of passage, not just from childhood into adulthood, it is the auspicious time in which they are expected to both grow spiritually, and become a better person in every facet of their lives. It signifies the solidification of their religious beliefs as well as their own personal code of ethics, and changing from the child who thought of their own needs instead of the needs of others around them. Their focus will be on learning the tenants of their faith to be stronger within the church, and learning skills to make them into better wives and mothers.

Jewish girls achieve adult status a year earlier than boys, because they typically mature faster, both physically and emotionally. With Mat Mitzvah, they reach a stage in development where they are expected to decide what kind of person they wish to be, and actively pursue becoming that person. Their morality and sensitivity are thought to have reached a maturity level in which they are able to be responsible for their thoughts and actions.

Bat Mitzvah means daughter of a commandment, and signifies the time in life when they must strive to become closer to God, like a daughter to her parent. While Bat Mitzah is a solemn, sacred rite of passage, they are also a celebration of life, growth, and faith. This is often the biggest party in a girl’s life. Many parents spare no expense, and travel to Israel for their daughters’ Bat Mitzvahs, or stay home, and hire disc jockeys, have interactive wall-sized televisions, and teen bash style parties, after the religious ceremonies are past, and the only adults remaining are the chaperones. Kosher food, party hats, noise makers, and teens galore make this once in a lifetime rite of passage, a party no girl could ever forget as hey celebrate their emergence into adulthood at their Bat Mitzvah.

Mrs. Party… Gail Leino is the internet’s leading authority on selecting the best possible party supplies, using proper etiquette and manners while also teaching organizational skills and fun facts. Tons of fun Bat Mitzvah Party Supplies, party favors, decorations, pinatas, free games and ideas to help complete your event.

Help Young Piano Students Develop Good Playing Habits the Easy Way

Posted by User Imageadmin on January 28, 2007

Posture is so important to developing good piano technique that without it students may never learn to play the piano with ease. Stories that use analogies are a great way to get through to children without hurting their feelings.

Here are five simple analogies to help your child sit correctly at the piano and play with more flexibility and ease.

1. Imagine while you are sitting on the piano bench that you can stretch your neck and the top of your head up to the ceiling like a giraffe’s.

2. Imagine that your arms are angel’s wings and swing them out from your sides until your elbows are pointing horizontally.

3. Rounding your hands and imagine that your fingers are spider’s legs and walk your fingers on the keys as you play.

4. Sit back on the piano bench and imagine that you are in charge of the piano.

5. Sit back on the piano bench and reach your arms out to the piano so your elbows are in front of your tummy. Imagine that you are glued to the seat and cannot scoot forward.

Always use the word imagine when you are instructing your child to sit properly at the piano. This works because it will help your child develop a secure mind-body connection that’s essential to playing with ease and comfort, so that playing the piano feels natural to students. Using the word “imagination” encourages children to use and develop this important creative skill needed for piano and other performing arts.

Cinco de Mayo Mexico’s Celebration of Liberation and Freedom

Posted by User Imageadmin on January 27, 2007

Cinco de Mayo, or the Fifth of May, is a day that is celebrated all over the world, but was begun as a celebration to honor Mexico’s Independence from Spain. Now, people of all nationalities celebrate Cinco de Mayo by decorating with plenty of flowers, the colors of Mexico’s flag (green white and red) putting on sombreros, Mexican folk music, salsa, or mariachi music, and joining the fiestas!

Invitation Ideas

For Cinco de Mayo invitations, you can cover white card stock with greeting suggestions like, “No time for a Siesta, it’s time to Fiesta!”, “Margaritas & Fajitas!, “It’s Party Time, Amigos!” You can even print these on your computer, and add graphics like cactus plants, chili peppers, sombreros, and the Flag of Mexico.

In green and red, on the inside write the date, location, time, phone, date, and dress code or costume suggestions. Be sure to ask for an RSVP, so you will be able to plan more easily, knowing approximately how many guests will be present.

Decorations

Simple, colorful decorations, in traditional Red, green & white streamers, do it yourself pinata, maracas, sombreros, red pepper lights, hot pink tissue paper flowers and plenty of other flowers to brighten the fiesta, can turn make your celebration more authentic, and truly honors the Cinco de Mayo tradition.

Music

Latin or Mexican folk music & mariachi are traditional for these celebrations, but popular Latino or Mexican performer’s music can be added in as well. It is great to form a conga line and dance and sing along with the music.
Food

Corn chips with salsa & queasy, tacos, chili, fajitas, Margaritas, Daiquiris, Cerveza, Mexican wines, Tia Maria, and, of course, lots of Tequila is sure to make the celebration a hit.
Party Favor Ideas

Mini cactus plants, toy maracas, small clay pots with candy “Red Hots”, bouquet of red, green & white carnations or other plants that combine the colors of the Mexican flag, or even small Mexican flags can be given as party favors. Most Cinco de Mayo party supplies can be found at local Mexican shops, groceries, or can be purchased online.

One final suggestion for your Cinco de Mayo celebration is to make it a block party where the guests can form conga lines from one yard to the next, taking advantage of the music, food, and drinks available over the neighborhood, and making everyone a participant in the Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Discover the Network Marketing Secrets of Kid Rock Part 1

Posted by User Imageadmin on January 26, 2007

It blew my mind too. The other day I walked into the room where by beautiful wife was watching VH1 “Behind the Music.” The subject of the story was super star Kid Rock. Now I am not I HUGE fan, I do think some of his stuff is great. But this guy has “it.” And “it” was enough to make me sit down and watch some of the show for a little while. And as I watched, I learned some valuable lessons that anyone could use to enhance their network marketing business.

This is not to say that kid Rock is conducting opportunity meetings, or holding training sessions at a hotel near you. But I do believe that success leave clues. People are successful because of their habits. And those successful habits are universal. Therefore, if you sow successful habits, you will reap successful rewards.

That is not to say you should follow all the habits of Rock. But there are 4 specific habits that I believe are keys to incredible success. By following these habits you can turn yourself into the multi-platinum network marketing superstar.

1. Know you outcome.

Kid Rock made a major decision in his life. He wanted to be a music superstar. He decided early what he wanted and would not let anyone deter him. He was so determined to realize his dream that he left the comfort of his wealth suburban Michigan lifestyle to more into the lower class neighborhoods of Detroit. He knew his outcome and he spoke it into existence.

You see, thoughts are things, they become actions and only through action will you achieve the success that you desire. Your MLM success whether it is in recruiting, lead generation or distribution will hinge on first knowing exactly what you want to accomplish.

2. Power of Perseverance

I don’t know about you but, when I first heard Kid Rock I thought that he was a new comer to the music world. I was wrong. He had been making music for years before any major label had ever heard of him. But even though he wallowed in virtual obscurity, he never let that deter him from his goal. He continued to work and work until he was noticed and the rest is history.

You need to give your MLM business the same dedication. Most people who fail in this business do so because they don’t stay around long enough to establish a foundation for success. The average failure quits in 3 months, while the average successful network marketer has been in their organization for 3 years. Think about it, you are starting a new business! It will take at least a year until you thoroughly understand your company and your product.

In part 2, I will explain the other two habits that you can imitate from Kid Rock and how you can put them together to turn yourself into a mega multi level marketing mogul.

Young Piano Students Learn to Keep Time with a Singing Metronome

Posted by User Imageadmin on January 25, 2007

Imagine your child practicing their very first Christmas Song on the piano, such as Away in the Manger, or Silent Night, but they’re not holding out the half notes or playing the dotted quarter rhythms like we’re all used to hearing it. Their song starts and stops and lacks the rhythm your trained ear is used to hearing. But of course you don’t want to say anything discouraging! When parents do try to correct such “imperfections” in rhythm and tempo, it often creates a lot of friction. Young students just can’t seem to get the right beat and parents don’t understand why! Well there is a solution that’s easy to use. One of the great features of modern piano lessons is the electronic or digital keyboard. With guidance from parents and piano teachers the recording features of these instruments are very useful to piano students.

One of the most difficult things for young students to learn is how to keep a steady beat and play correct note values. While a metronome is a great tool for this, it keeps a very strict beat that may not allow for proper expression of the music. Plus the concept of a metronome is difficult for young students to grasp. One of the great features of modern piano lessons is the electronic or digital keyboard.

With guidance from parents and piano teachers the recording features of these instruments are very useful to piano students. By recording passages of music for students, however, parents and teachers can give young children musical examples to imitate. Once a student can imitate the music (this is kind of like a baby bird learning its family song) they can learn to count the rhythms they are already playing.

Another great feature of a digital keyboard is that students can record their own pieces of music for self evaluation. This is a whole lot better than parents and teachers telling kids what to do, and of course this is the ultimate goal of teaching and parenting.

Fitness For Kids Some Examples Of Basic Kids Fitness Routines

Posted by User Imageadmin on January 23, 2007

These days, more and more parents are becoming concerned about the fitness of their kids. This is not surprising given the problems of childhood obesity and the increasing weight and lack of fitness that we are seeing in children. Child obesity and diabetes levels are rising dramatically. There is also the issue that many parents feel, which is that schools are paying less attention and devoting less time to physical education than they used to and that children’s activity levels are reduced as a result. All of this comes at a time when there is more television and video game distractions than ever that are tearing children away from the more physical activities that they would have once engaged in.

To combat these trends, there are a number of activities and routines that parents can encourage their children to take part in, and can use to increase the activity levels and fitness of their children.

The most important thing to remember with kids is that you will want to make the fitness routine fun. Trying to use guilt or shame to get over weight kids to be more active is likely to back fire and bring their confidence levels down even lower. The other point to remember is that the kids need not even realise that they are being encouraged to exercise more and you can simply slip the activities into their lives without them even noticing.

One easy way is to get the kids walking more. You may live close enough to their school to walk, or even cycle. This is a very easy way to sneak a little activity into their lives without them even noticing. You can also walk to other places like shops. Another very good idea for younger children is to buy a dog. While this will not be possible for everyone, it is an excellent excuse to have to take a walk every day and it also makes the task a little bit more fun and less mundane.

You can also plan fun activities for the weekend like roller blading, swimming, cycling, hill walking or ice skating. These activities are great fun and can be used to basically bribe kids into excercising. It is also a good idea to let the kids bring their friends to these activities as once they are involved in something with their friends, and they get a routine, they are much more likely to encourage each other and keep it up for longer.

Six Ways For Kids To Make Money

Posted by User Imageadmin on January 22, 2007

Most of us know the usual ways for kids to make money, which include lemonade stands, newspaper routes and mowing lawns. However, there are more unusual ways. Some of the ways listed below are from my own childhood, when I was always looking for another way to make money.

1. Be a chef. At about eleven years old, I used to sell meals to my brothers (I had four of them). I got 25 cents for scrambled eggs or a sandwich, and more for more complicated meals. My brothers preferred to stay in front of the TV and let me cook for them. Since the food was already provided by my parents, the income was pure profit.

2. Computer whiz-kid service. Many young kids know a lot about computers. My nephew was getting paid for programming by the the time he was fourteen, but even younger kids can show old folks how to use a computer and the internet for a fee. Learn a few more skills, and they can even set up computers for new owners who are using them for the first time. Letting grandparents spread the word would be a good marketing ploy.

3. Household carnival. I charged my brothers five cents for a wadded up piece of paper selected from a bucket full of them. Most had a penny or two inside them, but a few had a quarter. It was just one of my “carnival” events. I also had them throwing pennies at a bowl across the room, which I kept, of course. If a penny stayed in the bowl they won a dime. I’m almost embarrassed to say how much of their hard-earned paper route money I took from them.

4. Collect returnables. We collected and returned cans and bottles for a deposit as kids. Now that more states have return laws, it’s an even better way to make a little cash. During the Cherry Festival, when I lived in Traverse City, Michigan, adults came to town just to collect the cans that people threw all over. With a 10 cent deposit, they were collecting more than $100 worth per day according to several of them. If the kids wear gloves, leave broken cans and bottles alone, and use hand sanitizer, this is a safe way to make money.

5. Personal services menu. If there are many people in the family, a great way for kids to make money is to sell their services. They can make a menu of things they’ll do and how much they charge for each. It might include washing windows for 50 cents each, for example, and maybe $1.50 to walk a dog. If the list is copied, it could be handed out to all relatives and possibly neighbors too.

6. Rummage sales and flea markets. If parents agree, kids can have rummage sales, selling not just household things, but arts and crafts and refreshments too. Parents might even take their kids to a flea market to set up a stand. I sold (as an adult) more than $1,000 of hand-made walking sticks one summer, while my wife sold hundreds of dollars worth in pewter figurines glued to rocks, sea shells and crystals. Cookies and drinks sell well too. It’s a great way to learn about business, and a good way for kids to make money.

Free Christmas Games and Activities

Posted by User Imageadmin on January 21, 2007

The Candy Cane Ornament is a fun activity for kids to make during your family Christmas party and it can be a tasty treat after the holidays are over. You’ll need the following to make your ornaments:

Candy canes

craft foam squares in different colors, red, green, yellow, etc.

Ribbons for decoration

Mini-garland

Star pattern

Glue

You can easily cut out some star shapes from these cute and fairly stable foam squares. Try cutting out three foam stars each one smaller than the last and gluing them on top of each other. Then glue small pieces of the mini-garland around the candy cane. You can also cut out a small section of the ribbons and make it into a bow. Glue the stack of foam stars onto the bottom of the candy cane and glue the bow to the center of them. Once this has dried you can hang the candy cane by its hooked end from the tree. Kids may end up eating the candy canes before they’ve hung on the tree for very long though.

Another fun game to play around Christmas is the ‘What’s in Santa’s Stocking?’ game. Get several Christmas stockings and place objects inside of them that you would find interesting or unusual, such as a stuffed animal or a compact mirror. One object per stocking, and don’t let the guests see you put the objects into the stockings. Tie off the tops of the stockings and have everyone sit down together. You might want to number the stockings so you can keep track of them and what’s inside them. Then hand them around to the guests and each guest must feel the object through the stocking to try and figure out what’s inside. Everyone who guesses an object right gets a small prize.
